Developed in conjunction with RMIT University, the BRW Fast 100 is widely accepted as the authoritative yearly guide to Australias fastest rising small and medium businesses. It rates the one hundred fastest growing SMEs by averaging their yearly income growth over three years. Participants in the guide come from many different sectors of Australian business.

For the first time ever, security vendor Sense of Security will be participating in the competition. The carefully considered decision to enter the 2009 BRW Fast 100 stemmed from a desire to have our business performance independently evaluated against that of our competitors. In the past our usual policy has been to let our skills and experience do the talking for us. However we are convinced that Sense of Security is truly one of Australias most exciting emerging companies, and the best way for us to demonstrate that is by participating in the 2009 BRW Fast 100 competition.

The criteria for entry in 2009 are that the business must have recorded turnover greater than $500,000 in 2005-2006; it must have fewer than 200 employees; it cannot be a subsidiary of another company; and turnover for 2008-2009 must be greater than for 2007-2008.

BRW has said in past years, that the Fast 100 companies and businesses have displayed many common attributes, which we here at Sense of Security have long believed gave us an edge over our competition. These attributes include firm leadership, emphasis on human resources, unequaled organizational culture, a culture of innovation, customer focus, adjusting strategies to meet market inventiveness and competition awareness. These are all values shared by us.

Entries closed on 17 August for the 2009 BRW Fast 100. The results will be published in the BRW Fast 100 feature on 29 October. We here at Sense of Security would like to wish all participants the best of luck for the rankings.
