You may of gone as far as to of bought your brushes and colors but simply do not know what to actually paint. Fear not, there are hundreds of resources and help out there to get you started face painting in no time. Start by looking at a child's painting book. These books are great because they often have simple face painting designs but if the book is not about face painting you will have to transform the design so it will be suitable for the face. By practicing these simple designs on paper you will ensure you know the design well and be able to apply it to the face. Never worry if it doesn't look professional as the child will love it regardless! There are specific books for face painting designs that are great to look in for ideas. There are literally hundreds of books to choose from with lots of different ideas and designs. Often included are simple steps by step designs and all that is required is to follow the instructions Everywhere you look will give you inspiration you just simply need to open your eyes, There are lots of designs on the internet including sites specifically for face painting. In my experience the most popular designs include princess, tiger, dog, bunny, monster, Spiderman, skulls and pirates. As a beginner you can practice about 10 to 15 designs and aim to perfect them over time. Feel comfortable about painting those first and then look for more intricate designs.
