Copywriters are often short of cash and desperate for copywriting clients. Yet thankfully there are many ways to attract more copywriting clients, assuming you know where to find them. In this article, I'll share a few simple strategies that have been proven to work.

While educating people on the value of hiring a good copywriter can eventually pay off, I do not take this approach. I prefer to find entrepreneurs and small business owners who are already interested in hiring copywriters. This thinking is what my strategies are based on.

Strategy #1: Send people to a lead capture page using PPC.

The beauty of PPC advertising is that you can get in front of the people who are looking for exactly what you have to offer. So if somebody is looking to hire a copywriter, you can put your ad in front of that person.

The most popular PPC network is Google Adwords. You can literally get a new campaign up and running in under 10 minutes. Simply determine what keywords you want to target, write an ad, and send anyone who clicks on that ad to your lead capture page.

Whenever one of your "ad clickers" completes the form on your sales page, just schedule a time to talk. Once on the phone, you'll have an opportunity to answer questions and better explain your service. It's as easy as that.

Strategy #2: Attend marketing seminars and network with attendees.

Whenever a person spends good money to learn how to market their business, you know they've probably got money to hire a copywriter, too. Furthermore, a lot of people who attend business and marketing seminars already hire copywriters on a regular basis.

All of this means you're in a perfect position to get clients. To capitalize on the opportunity, all you need to do is "dress for success" and show up with a stack of business cards. With the right attitude and a few well-practiced questions, it is very possible for you to walk away with at least one new client, maybe more.

Strategy #3: Start blogging about copywriting.

Hiring a copywriter is not a decision you make in a day. It can often take weeks or months for a client to complete the buying cycle.

If you plan to be a copywriter for the long haul, then a blog -- written properly -- is a great way to build your client base.

While you obviously won't get clients after your first post, or even after your first five posts, you will at some point develop enough of a readership to cull some new clients.

There are many options for starting a blog. You can get a free hosted blog with Wordpress or Blogger, or you can install Wordpress on your own domain.

And these, in a nutshell, are three proven strategies for attracting and converting clients into your copywriting business. When you take the time to implement one or more of these, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the results.
